Day 32 is all about applying everything you’ve learned so far by building your own fully playable level or mini-game inside Unreal Engine. This day serves as both a review and a creative showcase—an opportunity to build something original using all the skills you’ve acquired throughout the course.

The session begins with concept planning. You’ll outline your game’s core idea, objective, environment layout, and interactions. Whether it’s a small puzzle room, a third-person exploration space, or a combat prototype, your goal is to bring a full gameplay loop to life.

Using the tools you’ve previously mastered—from landscape sculpting and material setup to lighting, Blueprints, Metahumans, Niagara VFX, and UI—you’ll start building out your game scene. This includes placing props, setting up collisions, creating basic interactions (like opening doors or triggering events), and designing simple AI or enemy behaviors if desired.

Polishing becomes the main theme of the second half of the session. You’ll improve visuals with post-processing, refine your lighting for mood, add subtle audio cues, adjust character movement for feel, and finalize your UI with elements like a start screen, health bar, or game-over text. You’ll also work on player feedback, ensuring your game communicates clearly through visual or auditory cues.

At the end of the day, you’ll test your level for bugs, playability, and flow. This hands-on creation not only reinforces your technical knowledge but also builds your portfolio with a project you can showcase. Day 32 marks the exciting transition from student to creator, giving you a finished piece to be proud of and a springboard for future Unreal Engine development.
