On Day 41, learners are introduced to the final and essential step of game development—packaging and deployment. The goal is to convert the working Unreal Engine project into an executable file that can be shared and played on platforms like Windows (PC) or Android. Students will gain hands-on experience with the tools and settings necessary to deliver a polished build.

You’ll begin by preparing your project for packaging. This includes checking for errors, ensuring all required assets are referenced, and verifying the correct Game Mode, Player Start, and Maps are configured. You’ll explore the Project Settings panel, where important configurations like target platform, texture streaming, rendering options, and input bindings are finalized.

For PC packaging, you’ll walk through the setup for 64-bit builds, debug vs shipping modes, and output folder organization. The focus is on creating lightweight builds without sacrificing performance. For Android, the session will cover mobile-specific settings—like Android SDK/NDK installation, texture compression formats (ASTC/ETC), touchscreen input mapping, and screen resolution scaling. Students will also learn how to generate and install APKs on real devices.

In both platforms, attention will be given to optimization: removing unused assets, configuring LODs, baking lighting, and minimizing blueprint complexity. You’ll also get a preview of platform-specific challenges, such as memory limits on mobile or driver issues on low-end PCs.

Finally, students will test their packaged games and troubleshoot common issues such as missing dependencies, black screens, or input bugs. By the end of the day, each learner will have successfully created a working standalone build of their game—a huge milestone in their development journey and the stepping stone for distribution or portfolio presentation.
