On Day 6, we dive into the fundamentals of real-world furniture modeling by creating a basic chair and table. These might seem like simple objects, but they serve as perfect entry points for practicing and reinforcing key 3D modeling principles.

We begin the day by studying reference images and real-world dimensions to ensure our models reflect accurate scale and proportions. Understanding form is essential in creating believable objects, especially in games and archviz. Learners will block out the shapes using primitives like cubes and cylinders, and then refine them using extrusions, bevels, and other poly-modeling techniques.

This session focuses heavily on achieving clean topology, ensuring that the geometry is optimized and has no unnecessary faces, n-gons, or overlapping vertices. We also emphasize the importance of working in quads to maintain consistency, especially when models are later unwrapped or subdivided.

Students will understand how to maintain symmetry and object alignment, making their work modular and reusable. By the end of the session, the goal is to have a game-engine-ready chair and table that could fit in a modern or stylized interior scene. This includes correctly scaled legs, joints, and tabletops with smoothed edges and clean silhouette curves.

This hands-on exercise prepares students to think about real-world applicability and game performance early in their modeling journey. These skills will be crucial when working in a professional pipeline or integrating models into Unreal Engine for real-time visualization.
